Pushing the animals too hard (more than four speed runs per 24 hours) can result in one or more of the animals pulling up lame, death by exhaustion, or the animals simply refusing to run. The latter is the most common result. When pushed hard, the animals will need to rest for at least two hours between runs. Reduced Speed: Reduce speed by half when the ground is slippery or muddy. 200 Ibs (540 kg) per animal (+20% for mules and +40% for oxen) in addition to the driver and the weight of the wagon itself.
